UK and Caribbean Film Development is a British company set up in 2017 by Melissa Simmonds and Keith Morris which unites acting and production talent from Barbados and the UK.
After The Gale Theatre (Registered charity no 277728) sponsored by Virgin Atlantic completed seven seasons (2007/2014) uniting expertise from Barbados and England and following the release of award-winning film A Caribbean Dream (re- imagining of Shakespeare’s a Mid- summer Night’s Dream set in Barbados), it made sense to develop more stories.
A slate of ideas have been developed for television, film and theatre which unite expertise from both countries.
The company is uniquely placed with its Uk film connections along with the knowledge of the best fixers, casting talent and crew in Barbados for shoots.
Simmonds has spent a life time in both countries and is well placed to unite acting talent and production expertise from both islands as well as raise finance.
