Company directors Keith Morris and Melissa Simmonds have a slate of ideas which have been developed for television, film and theatre and unite expertise from Barbados and the UK. They are currently working with Barbadian writer Donna Every.
Having executive produced award winning film ‘A Caribbean Dream’ creatively produced by Simmonds, Keith Morris decided to support a development company to further ideas for adaptations which tell stories from both islands.
Together they executive produced BIFA award winning short film ‘Jacked’, which was subsequently selected by BBC Film, Film London and the BFI, to be developed into the award winning film ‘Looted', produced by Jennifer Eriksson and Jessie Mangum and directed by Rene Pannevis.
UK and Caribbean Film Development support emerging and established film makers in Barbados; Parachute film studios and 13 degrees north when they expanded from production to upgrade of local camera hire business.
Simmonds grew up in London and trained at RADA; founded Gale Theatre of London and Barbados (Registered charity no 277728) a professional theatre company which was sponsored by Virgin Atlantic from 2008 to 2013. She has spent a life time in both countries and is well placed to unite talent and expertise from them.
